Our Launch

On November 6, 2009 a crowd gathered at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington to watch as the new Delaware Sports Commission was launched with a ceremonial first pitch from Governor Jack Markell.
 
This ceremonial event had guest speakers including, Linda Parkowski, Chairman of the Board, Matthew Sparks, Executive Director, Professor Matt Robinson, President, Kevin Reilly, celebrated former NFL football player and renowned motivational speaker, Alan Levin, Director of the Delaware Economic Development Office, and Governor Jack Markell.

First Annual Bash at the Beach Volleyball Tournament

The 2009 NJCAA Region XIX Volleyball Champions, Delaware Tech Lady Hawks, will be hosting the first annual Bash at the Beach Volleyball Tournament.  This is a chance for college volleyball teams to come together in a fun, friendly, competitive environment. The event will take place on September 3 through September 4, Friday and Saturday, at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, DE.  There is an entry fee of $325 per team due at registration time, payable to Delaware Tech.  All entries must be received by August 15, 2010.  Spots are filling up quickly

Philadelphia Bids to Host World Cup in '18 or '22

The City of Phildelphia is currently vying to be a host city for the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cup if the United States is selected as the host nation. There are currently eighteen cities selected as finalist that will be boiled down to twelve final cities.
