Welcome to the student chapter of Engineers Without Borders at the University of Delaware. Engineers Without Borders-USA is a non-profit, humanitarian organization of dedicated and enthusiastic students and professionals who believe everyone should have access to adequate sanitation, safe drinking water and resources to meet their basic needs. Once identifying a problem, our chapter works closely with an international community and professional engineers to develop and implement a sustainable solution. Recently we have completed projects on a potable water supply project in Cameroon and a bridge construction project in Guatemala, and are now examining new projects in Malawi.

Cost: $50 per person ($20 is tax deductible*)
EWB-UD holds a Benefit Dinner each year to celebrate the Chapter’s accomplishments, recognize the community for their support, and provide an opportunity for the community to support the Chapter’s vision for the coming year. The dinner will feature a silent auction to support the Chapter’s international development projects, a 50/50 raffle, various speakers, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. At 8:30 pm the winners of the silent auction items will be announced.

Engineers Without Borders at the University of Delaware is committed to designing and implementing sustainable solutions to problems in international developing communities and bridging cultural, economical, and political divides.
♣ To develop and foster long-term relationships with an international developing community and to help establish the necessary infrastructure to administer and maintain a sustainable solution
♣ To provide students with technical and cultural knowledge to effectively approach and solve world problems on a community-based level
♣ To promote world citizenship in helping to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals of 2015, which include reducing the number of people without clean water and sanitation by half
♣ To provide students with a multi-disciplinary international network of students, professors, and professionals dedicated to the betterment of society
